If you have a collection of unpaid toll violations in the Houston area, it’s time to pay up. Harris County deputies will focus their efforts on large toll violators, owing more than $500 in unpaid tolls. The enforcement began on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Deputies respond to a rapid alert system notifying law enforcement when and where a motorist moves through a toll booth.
The operations of the toll booth system function to catch violators by capturing the plate of the vehicle, description, and timeline of their violations including the dollar amount of unpaid tolls, according to a report by ABC13, a Houston-based news source.
EZ tags are free for drivers, and starting on Labor Day, Monday, Sept 4 toll prices will decrease by 15%.
